The academic lecture were successfully held in the first-floor auditorium of the Academic Exchange Center in our university at 15:00 on November 6, 2025. We were honored to invite Dr. Ernesto A. Moya-Elizondo, a renowned scholar from the University de Concepción, Chile, for an academic visit and exchange. Dr. Moya-Elizondo delivered a cutting-edge academic report titled "Use of Induction of Resistance to Manage Plant Diseases" to our faculty and students.

During the lecture, Dr. Moya-Elizondo focused on the globally recognized research fields of biopesticides and plant probiotics, systematically introducing his team’s innovative work in utilizing microorganisms to induce plant resistance for disease control. The team has successfully developed a novel resistance inducer derived Pseudomonas protegens. This inducer effectively activates systemic disease resistance in crops, with experiments demonstrating significant inhibitory activity against various crop pathogens. It successfully addresses the ineffectiveness limited efficacy of chemical pesticides. The research findings have completed formulation development and are now advancing toward commercialization stage, demonstrating promising prospects of industrial application.

During the interactive session, faculty and students actively raised questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with Dr. Moya-Elizondo. The exchanges spanned from academic topics to international student exchanges, broadening participants global perspectives. Attendees unanimously expressed that the lecture provided them with a clearer understanding of the evolution, current challenges, and future opportunities in plant disease control. Following the presentation, Dr. Moya-Elizondo visited the College of Agriculture and held further discussions with faculty members regarding disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and potential future research collaborations. This academic event served as a high-level intellectual feast, injecting new vitality into enhancing our university’s scientific research and innovation capabilities.
